samosa day

Happy Samosa Day!

We at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve love a good samosa, and Samosa Day is the perfect excuse to celebrate this delicious Indian snack. Samosas are fried or baked pastries with savory fillings, typically potatoes and peas. They're a popular street food in India and around the world, and for good reason! They're crispy, flavorful, and can be enjoyed as a snack or a light meal.

Samosas and Mythical Creatures

Samosas have a long and interesting history. Some believe they originated in Central Asia, while others claim they were invented in India. Regardless of their origin, samosas have become a beloved food in many cultures.

The triangular shape of the samosa has led to some interesting comparisons to mythical creatures. In some cultures, samosas are said to resemble the horns of a jackalope, a mythical rabbit-like creature with antlers. Jackalopes are often seen as tricksters, and their likeness to samosas may reflect the playful nature of this food.
