Toothache Day

Happy National Toothache Day!

Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we celebrate all things strange and unusual, and that includes...well, your chompers! That's right, today is National Toothache Day, a day to reflect on our pearly whites and the occasional gremlins that take up residence within them.

Now, you might be thinking, "Why would there be a holiday dedicated to toothaches?" Well, throughout history, toothaches have been a universal pain (quite literally). Before modern dentistry, people had to rely on some pretty wild remedies to soothe their throbbing teeth.

One such remedy, from ancient Mesopotamia, involved chanting incantations to appease a tooth demon! According to legend, these tiny demons would burrow into your teeth and cause immense pain. The chants were believed to either drive the demon out or appease it enough to make the pain stop. Thankfully, we've come a long way since then, but it's a fascinating look at how people have tried to explain and cure toothaches throughout time.

Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we recommend a more scientific approach to dental hygiene. Brushing twice a day, flossing regularly, and seeing your dentist for checkups are all crucial for keeping those pearly whites healthy and demon-free!

However, if you do find yourself with a toothache, fear not! There are plenty of over-the-counter pain relievers available, and dentists can work their magic to get you back to smiling in no time.

So, this National Toothache Day, take a moment to appreciate your teeth! Brush them, floss them, and keep those demons at bay. And if the pain persists, remember, a visit to the dentist is always a better option than an ancient chant.
