Avacado Day
Happy Avocado Day!
At the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we love celebrating all things weird and wonderful, and that includes delicious fruits like the avocado! But did you know that the avocado has a bit of a mysterious past?
Avocados have been cultivated in Central America for over 7,000 years. Aztec folklore tells of a creature called the ahuacatl, a serpent-like beast that guarded the forests where avocados grew. The ahuacatl was said to be so fierce that its very presence could cause avocado trees to wither and die.
Of course, this is just a myth, but it highlights the important role that avocados have played in human cultures for centuries. Today, avocados are enjoyed all over the world for their creamy texture and rich flavor. They are also a good source of healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals.
So, how can you celebrate Avocado Day at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve? We've got a few ideas:
* Visit our gift shop and pick up an avocado-themed souvenir, like a plush ahuacatl or a T-shirt that says "I Avocados."
* Stop by our cafe and try our special Avocado Day menu, which will feature all sorts of delicious avocado-based treats.
* Learn more about avocados and other interesting fruits and vegetables by taking a tour of our botanical gardens.
We hope you have a Happy Avocado Day!
