Frankenstien Day

Celebrate Frankenstein Day at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve!

Mark your calendars, monster enthusiasts! On August 30th, we celebrate Frankenstein Day at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve. This day honors Mary Shelley's iconic novel, Frankenstein; a chilling tale that explores the dangers of scientific ambition.

A Day to Reflect on the Nature of Monsters

Frankenstein's monster is often depicted as a grotesque and mindless creature. However, Shelley's novel portrays a complex being, struggling to understand its place in the world. Frankenstein Day is a chance to reflect on our own perceptions of monsters and the potential dangers of scientific progress.

Frankenstein and the Cryptids of Haberdashery

The Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve is home to a variety of creatures that could be considered modern-day monsters.  From the elusive Lizard Man of Swampscott to the terrifying Grafton Monster, these cryptids share some commonalities with Frankenstein's monster.  Like Frankenstein's creation, these creatures are often misunderstood and feared.

Join us for a Monstrous Celebration!

On August 30th, the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve will be hosting a special Frankenstein Day event. There will be educational talks about the history of Frankenstein and the science behind cryptids. We'll also have fun activities for the whole family, like a costume contest and a monster mash dance party!

So come join us for a monstrous celebration of Frankenstein Day!  Learn about the science of cryptids, meet some of our fascinating resident creatures, and celebrate the enduring legacy of Mary Shelley's masterpiece
