Happy Battery Day! It's Electrifying Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve!

Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we celebrate all kinds of quirky holidays, and Battery Day is no exception! Today, we honor the often-overlooked powerhouse that keeps our flashlights bright, our cameras clickin', and maybe even keeps that strange humming emanating from the Restricted Zone at bay (but that's a story for another day).

But batteries hold a deeper mystery than just storing electricity. They've been linked to the paranormal for centuries! Legends of Baghdad speak of a "Baghdad Battery," a clay jar some believe was an ancient battery used to power mystical lights. Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we aren't sure if it's true, but it does make you wonder what other unexplained phenomena might be powered by mysterious, unseen forces!

So, this Battery Day, we encourage you to take a moment to appreciate the humble battery. It might just be keeping the lights on, but who knows what other hidden forces it harnesses? Maybe it's keeping those Jack-o'-Lantern Heads a little less lively at night, or maybe it's juicing up the legendary Mothman for its nightly flights. After all, with a little bit of mystery and a dash of imagination, anything is possible!

• Build your own mini-battery and see if you can light up a small LED – a fun activity for all ages!
