Shine a Light on Our Cryptids: Celebrating Flashlight Day at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve

Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we take every opportunity to appreciate the wonders that creep and crawl in the shadows. But what about those shy creatures that prefer the cloak of darkness? Well, that's where Flashlight Day comes in!

Celebrated annually on the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, Flashlight Day serves as a reminder of the illuminating power of knowledge and preparedness. Just as a flashlight cuts through the gloom, so too can scientific inquiry dispel myths and misconceptions.

However, for the elusive cryptids that call the Haberdashery Preserve home, the long winter nights can be a time of increased activity. After all, with less sunlight, these nocturnal creatures have more freedom to roam.

Take the elusive Hidebehind, for instance. Legends say this spindly entity can contort its body to become completely invisible against any background – except for one small detail. The Hidebehind is said to cast no shadow, making a flashlight a valuable tool for any potential encounter.

So, this Flashlight Day, we at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve encourage you to grab your trusty beam and:

Together, by shining a light on the unknown, we can foster a world of appreciation and understanding for all creatures, great and small, shadowy or sun-drenched.
