The Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve Celebrates National Toilet Day!

Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we take pride in providing a safe haven for all creatures, both natural and...well, let's just say unconventional. While Bigfoot may not be spotted combing his fur in the mornings, and the Loch Ness Monster isn't exactly known for leaving porcelain thrones on the loch floor, that doesn't mean there aren't fantastical beings with...uh...bathroom needs!

National Toilet Day, celebrated every June 30th, is a time to appreciate the often-overlooked marvel of sanitation. Toilets, while not the most glamorous topic of conversation, are a cornerstone of public health and a symbol of human ingenuity. But did you know that even in the realm of myth and legend, toilets hold a strange and sometimes spooky significance?

In Japan, there's the legend of the Kappa, a mischievous turtle-like creature said to inhabit rivers and streams. Kappa are known for their love of cucumbers, but they also have a peculiar fascination with human bodily fluids! Legend has it that a kappa's head contains a dish of water, and if this water spills out, the kappa loses its strength. So, if you ever encounter a kappa, a well-placed splash might be just the ticket to send it packing!

Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we understand that even the most fantastical creatures need their creature comforts. While we may not have stalls labeled "Bigfoot" or "Jersey Devil," our commitment to providing a hospitable habitat extends to all our residents', ahem, needs. So, the next time you use your trusty porcelain throne, take a moment to appreciate this wonder of modern plumbing, and remember – even the creatures that go bump in the night appreciate a good flush!

Happy National Toilet Day!
