Homemade Pie Day

Sure, here is a long webpage excerpt for the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve celebrating Homemade Pie Day with facts and a reference to a mothman:

Happy Homemade Pie Day!

Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we take every opportunity to celebrate, and what better way to celebrate than with delicious homemade pie?

Pies have been a staple food for centuries, with countless variations enjoyed around the world.  But did you know that the origin of pie can be traced back to ancient Egypt? The Egyptians made early versions of pie using pastry shells filled with meats, fruits, and honey.

Today, pies come in all shapes and sizes, from savory meat pies to sweet fruit pies.  And no matter what your filling of choice is, there's a perfect pie recipe out there for you.

Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we're particularly fond of fruit pies.  They're a great way to showcase the bounty of summer fruits, and they're always a crowd-pleaser.  We even have a local legend here in Haberdashery that says Mothman himself has a fondness for blueberry pie!  Maybe if you leave a slice out on your porch on a clear night, you'll get a glimpse of the elusive winged creature.

So this Homemade Pie Day, we encourage you to get in the kitchen and bake up a pie of your own.  It's a great way to show your loved ones you care, and it's a delicious way to celebrate this fun food holiday.
