On July 10th, we celebrate these fascinating bivalves! Oysters are filter feeders that play a crucial role in maintaining healthy waterways. They can filter up to 50 gallons of water a day, removing pollutants and improving water clarity.

Here at Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we believe that even the most well-understood creatures can hold a touch of mystery. Oysters, for instance, have been linked to some truly strange legends. In Scottish folklore, the Selkie, a mythical creature that can transform between seal and human form, is said to be fond of oysters.
