Spudtacular Spirits Celebrate National Potato Lover's Day at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve!

While many celebrate National Potato Lover's Day with mountains of mashed potatoes or a vat of french fries, here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we take things a little...stranger. After all, the truth is stranger than fiction, and some might say, tastier!

Did you know? The humble potato may hold the key to unlocking a dimensional doorway...or at least a grumpy Gargoyle's heart. Legends from Ireland speak of the "Spudtacular Sprite," a mischievous creature said to inhabit potato fields. This little green trickster delights in rearranging spuds just before harvest, leading farmers on wild goose chases (or should we say, wild potato chases?). While we haven't sighted a Spudtacular Sprite ourselves (yet!), we like to think they're enjoying the unique tubers grown in our cryptid-cultivated soil.

Here's how we're celebrating National Potato Lover's Day Haberdashery style:

• The Hideous Haggis Hurling Competition: This year, we're adding a root-vegetable twist! Contestants will craft their haggis using a variety of mystery potatoes, each with its own unique...characteristic. Will you get a hauntingly purple spud or a glowing green one? The surprise is half the fun (and the other half is flinging it at a target)!

• The Mashing of the Monarch: Our resident grumpy Gargoyle, Gorgonzola, isn't much of a people person. But there's one thing that seems to soften his stony exterior: perfectly mashed potatoes. Help us create a mountain of creamy comfort food to appease the Gorgonzola and, hopefully, unlock a secret passage to...somewhere interesting!

• Spud-tacular Scavenger Hunt: Explore the grounds of the Haberdashery and unearth legendary potato facts (and maybe even a legendary potato...or two?). This family-friendly scavenger hunt will have you digging for knowledge (and maybe some spuds) in no time!
