March 11
Workshop Day
Happy National Worship of Tools Day from the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve!
It's March 11th, and that means it's National Worship of Tools Day! Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we understand the importance of having the right tools for the job, especially when that job involves wrangling wayward Jackalopes or calming a grumpy Hidebehind.
Did you know? Many cultures have myths and legends around tools and their creators. The Norse legend of Dwarves tells of skilled craftsmen who forged powerful weapons and tools deep within the earth. In Japan, the Tengu, mischievous mountain spirits, are often depicted carrying tools like hatchets and chisels, representing their mastery over craftsmanship.
Here at the Preserve, our own resident cryptid handyman is none other than Bigfoot himself (though we prefer the more respectful term "Haberdasher Harold"). Harold's incredible strength and knack for improvisation make him a legend among the cryptid community. He can build a sturdy fence to keep out mischievous Pixies with nothing more than a few fallen logs and some strategically placed vines.
How to Celebrate Workshop of Tools Day:
Show your tools some love! Give them a good cleaning, sharpen your blades, and replace any worn parts. Taking care of your tools ensures they'll be there for you when you need them most.
Put your tools to good use! Do a little project around the house, plant a community garden, or volunteer your skills to help a neighbor.
Learn a new skill! There's always something new to learn, whether it's basic woodworking, simple repairs, or even the fascinating history of tools.
Visit your local hardware store! Just browsing the aisles can spark inspiration for your next project.
From the humble hammer to the wonder of a 3D printer, tools have the power to create, fix, and build. So this National Worship of Tools Day, take a moment to appreciate these trusty companions and unleash your inner Haberdasher Harold!
