Or watch your ball roll past a basking amphisbaena, a mythical two-headed serpent rumored to bring good luck to golfers (though some might consider it a distraction).

Speaking of myths and legends, there's a reason why some golfers talk about a creature they call the "Green Menace." Legends claim it's a mischievous fairy or gnome that steals balls that land in the rough. While we haven't captured any Green Menaces ourselves, their playful thievery adds to the folklore of the game.
