Here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we love a good reason to celebrate, and what better reason than National String Cheese Day? This fun, unofficial holiday is the perfect excuse to grab your favorite string cheese (we recommend locally-sourced Bigfoot Cheddar!) and join us for a day of stretchy shenanigans!

String cheese may seem like a simple snack, but did you know it's packed with history and mystery? The origins of string cheese, like many delicious things, are shrouded in a bit of obscurity. Some legends claim it was invented by a cheese stretching Sasquatch in the mountains of Wisconsin, who used his incredible strength to create long, cheesy strands for easy on-the-go snacking. While the truth is likely a little less hairy, the legend speaks to the inherent fun and intrigue of this delightful dairy product.

But here at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve, we're all about celebrating the strange and unusual. So, this National String Cheese Day, we're putting our own spin on things with a special Cryptid Encounter Tour! Join our intrepid guides on an expedition through the wildest corners of the preserve, where you might just catch a glimpse of our resident stretchy cryptid, the Hidebehind. Legend tells of this shy creature with fur as white as mozzarella and long, appendages that can stretch and contort like the meltiest string cheese. Will you be the one to finally snag a photo of this elusive cheese connoisseur?

There's more to National String Cheese Day at the Haberdashery Cryptid Preserve than just cheese and cryptids (though those are pretty awesome). We'll also have fun activities for the whole family, including:

• The Great String Cheese Race: It's a race unlike any other! Grab your string cheese partner and get ready for a hilarious relay race that will test your speed, agility, and cheese-handling skills.

• Cheese Stretching Exhibition: Witness the amazing cheese stretching talents of our very own cheesemonger extraordinaire, Cheesington McCheesington. He'll be demonstrating traditional cheese stretching techniques, as well as some downright bizarre ones (think: human cheese pull-ups?).
